The Mitre

Here at The Mitre, we pride ourselves on offering the finest ale and food, from sourcing local ingredients to bespoke spirits and our unique blend of coffee perfected by Melitta.

We only use the finest quality of coffee beans to ensure our customers receive a great tasting coffee in every cup. Whether you’re calling in at The Mitre for a pit stop before heading into Harrogate or unwinding after a long day in Knaresborough, make sure you sample a cup of our Melitta coffee, ranging from a flat white to a double espresso and even liqueur coffee.

Food

Wining and dining at The Mitre is a relaxing and enjoyable experience, with our full menu and specials available either in the informal atmosphere of our bar area, or in the comfortable and pleasant Dining room, there is the perfect atmosphere for everyone. All of our high quality and home-cooked food is inspired by local and seasonal produce and is freshly prepared on site.

For your special event or meeting, our Chefs can work with you to create bespoke menus or buffets to suit your needs.

Beverages

The Mitre offers a wide and interesting variety of permanent and ever-changing guest ales so there is always something new to try. With an expansive range of spirits and wine, there is something for everyone.

Lounge/Bar

The Mitre has a recently refurbished large Lounge Bar with ample seating offering an extensive and interesting variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, making it the ideal place to meet up with friends and colleagues in traditional surroundings with a modern twist.

Dining Room

The Mitre also has a large Dining Room, which is the ideal place to hold business meetings and personal events. With it’s close proximity to the main bar, refreshments are always close to hand. This area is open daily for lunch and dinner, unless pre-booked for a private function.

Luxurious Accommodation

The Mitre has luxurious guest ensuite bedrooms available on a bed and breakfast basis. All have been refurbished to a high standard and equipped with a wide range of facilities, ensuring the most relaxing break possible!

Functions

We are situated next to St Johns church in the centre of town (adjacent to the railway station).  This makes The Mitre the perfect venue for hosting your wedding reception, business meeting or just having a family celebration.

We have two different function areas which can be set up and adapted to suit your specific needs. The upstairs dining room is well-suited for small parties or business meetings and being close to the Lounge Bar, refreshments are always on hand.
