Brigantes Bar & Brasserie - York

The company's tenth tavern, Brigantes opened in February 2006 and saw a comprehensive refurbishment programme in May 2013.

Located some 100 yards from York's famous Micklegate Bar, the premises are housed in a listed Georgian building which was the birthplace of Joseph Aloysius Hansom (1803 - 1882), a renowned architect, inventor and designer of landscape gardens. He is perhaps most well-known for the design of the magnificent Birmingham Town Hall and for inventing the Hansom Can which he patented in 1834.
