Brigantes Food & Drink

Our thinking was based on the fact that we have a small dining room, which is often occupied by meetings & private groups, and a large bar area. We anticipated that a large majority of customers would eat in the bar and many of the 'passing-through' tourist customers would welcome something speedy. Hence - the range of 'Brigantes Burgers'

In keeping with the rest of the menu, these burgers are home made and delicious! Dishes from the char-grill pretty much sum up what our menu is about - fundamentally traditional but with a contemporary twist

Our menu also offers a wide range of maincourse dishes so that it is possible to have a quality 3 course meal chosen from this or the specials board. The historic surroundings and the intimate candlit dining/function room make for a superb eating atmosphere.


Locals who use Brigantes during their lunchhour for a speedy snack are invited to pre-order by telephone.

DRINKS

Brigantes has a superb range of 8 handpulled ales. The permanent beers here are from Timothy Taylor's, Black Sheep and York Guzzler. We usually have another of the York Brewery beers available too. The local support for York beers was evident from day one, plus it certainly hasn't got far to travel - you can't get much more of a local brewery than one which is literally in your back yard!  We also have a pump dedicated to the new up and coming Leeds Brewery, founded in 2007.  This rotates between the permanent beers:  Leeds Pale & Leeds Best with the occasional seasonal special in here too.  We always have a dark mild or dark beer available on one of the pumps too.
