Thankfully the food offering at Bar t'at is much more varied than the items mentioned in the eponymous song! ("Then wi s'll shall come an' eyt up t'ducks" - said ducks having already eyt'n up t'wurrums!).
You may, indeed, find an appropriate duck dish on menu but the range of meat, fish & vegetarian options is similar to that found in the majority of our taverns. However, you will also find a selection of "nibbles" since many of our diners like to start their meal with an informal shared starter and regular drinkers enjoy ordering something other than a packet of crisps to accompany a pint of real ale!.
Bar t'at is an extremely busy bar and so, at busy times such as Friday & Saturday evenings, we tend to restrict diners to the "cellar" area. With it's cosy, candlelit atmosphere away from the scrum at the upstairs bar, it is a perfect venue for a traditional meal. Split into two rooms, this cellar area is also ideal for private parties.
During the day, food is mainly served in the ground floor bar & conservatory area.
Our kitchen team at Bar t'at work wonders from a relatively small cooking area and Bar t'at is acquiring a reputation for occasional themed menus.
DRINKS
Bar t'at has a great range of 8 cask ales available, which is remarkable if you consider the size of the beer cellar! Timothy Taylor's, Black Sheep and Copper Dragon all have a permanent place on the bar - the remaining pumps are dedicated to an ever changing range of guest ales. Usually, one pump features a single brewery's ales for a few weeks, enabling customers to get to know that whole brewery's range. We always have a dark beer (mild, stout or porter) available on one of the other pumps.
Open Daily 12 noon - 11.00pm
